New North Workplace Excellence Award applications being accepted

Initial submissions for 2021–22 honor must be received by 5 p.m. on Oct. 1 for consideration

NEW NORTH, August 3, 2021 – Applications are now being accepted for the 2021–22 New North Workplace Excellence Award. The honor recognizes organizations within the 18-county New North region which are improving their competitive advantage through people practices that lead to successful business outcomes.

A collaboration between New North Inc. and Right Management, award submissions are evaluated on people practices that include orientation and assimilation; recruitment, selection and retention; culture management; engagement; diversity, equity and inclusion; development/performance management; employee communication; and succession/knowledge transfer. Business outcomes criterion include savings, growth, increased profitability and H.R. impact outside the organization.

The New North Workplace Excellence Award application consists of three phases. Phase 1 asks for a brief statement of consideration, of 500 words or less. The application form can be found at https://bit.ly/NNWorkplaceExcellence2021-22. Responses are due by 5 p.m. CDT on October 1, 2021, and should be emailed to [email protected].

Organizations that meet Phase 1 requirements and which move onto Phase 2 will be notified on October 29 and invited to submit a detailed application, which is due by 5 p.m. CST on January 28, 2022. Those advancing to Phase 3 will be contacted on February 18, 2022, and site visits by members of the award’s judging committee are scheduled during March or early April to select the winner(s).

Announcement of the 2021–22 winner(s) of the New North Workplace Excellence Award will be made at the annual New North Summit, slated to be held in June 2022.

Organizations located within the 18-county New North region are eligible to apply. Companies submitting an application do not need to be headquartered in New North, but must have a division or location within the region to be eligible.

Counties within the New North region are Brown, Calumet, Door, Florence, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Marquette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Sheboygan, Waupaca, Waushara and Winnebago.

The winner of the 2020-21 New North Workplace Excellence Award was Wipfli, a top 20 accounting and business consulting firm in the U.S. with significant operations in Northeast Wisconsin. Other recent winners include Integrity Insurance (2019); Schneider (2018); American Transmission Company, Expera Specialty Solutions and Werner Electric Supply (2017), Foth (2016), Oshkosh Corp. (2015) and U.S. Venture, Inc. (2014).
