Suneer Patel of FyterTech Nonwovens joins New North board of directors
Brings leadership, experience in plastics manufacturing as region’s converting corridor grows
NEW NORTH, January 17, 2023 – Suneer Patel, who has spent more than a quarter-century in area manufacturing, has joined the board of directors of New North Inc., the regional economic development corporation for the 18 counties of Northeast Wisconsin. He was advanced by New North’s board development committee and approved by the Board.
“Suneer brings a long manufacturing career within the New North region to our board of directors. Having this level of leadership and experience in such a key industry will benefit our Board and organization as we continue to build on our converting corridor, comprised of related plastics-manufacturing assets,” says Barb LaMue, president and CEO of New North Inc. “We thank Andy Hetzel for his board service as he assumes the role of chairman of the board at FyterTech Nonwovens.”
Patel is president and CEO of FyterTech Nonwovens, a manufacturer of technical nonwoven fabrics and spill-control products headquartered in De Pere and operating globally. He first joined the company in January 2022 as chief operating officer and was promoted to his current position earlier this month.
Previously Patel spent 25 years (1996-2021) at Pacur, a medical plastics extrusion company in Oshkosh. He began in product development, and also worked in quality management, process development and market management before moving into operations, serving as vice president of operations and technology for his final five years.
Patel holds a bachelor’s degree in textile and polymer chemistry from Clemson University and a master’s degree in polymers/plastics from Georgia Tech. He remained in Atlanta to begin his professional career, working as a chemist in the design of products for the cleanroom maintenance disposable and static-sensitive component protection markets.
