Wisconsin Wind Works is a consortium of manufacturers representing the wind manufacturing supply chain within Wisconsin. It is a collaborative initiative of New North, Inc., a regional non-profit economic development organization, that connects wind power companies to suppliers and vendors. Specialty areas represented within the consortium include, but are not limited to: assembly; construction; die castings; engineering; foundry/forging; logistics; composites; controls; education/training; fabrication; gears/bearings; and tooling/machining.
Beginning in Spring 2010, Wisconsin Wind Works is transitioning into a formal trade council, to be known as the Wisconsin Wind Works Alliance. The Alliance is funded by annual memberships and functions similar to a trade association, providing networking, promotional, educational, and leadership opportunities as well as match-making services, research, advertising and trade discounts. Annual membership is available to any Wisconsin company interested in growing its business in the wind industry.

The survey attempted to identify specific labor characteristics required of the wind energy market, potential training pathways, and gross anticipatied demand for such skilled workers.
